Fungi are fascinating organisms. Many dont realise yeast used to make beer is a fungi. Experience a foray into the wonderful world of mycology at this unique tasting. A first of its kind event for AKL beer week, in this 90 minute session you’ll get hands on experience cultivating gourmet mushrooms paired with a tasting of Saint Leonards beers, and leave with your own take home mushroom kit to continue the fun at home.

‘Belgians for Beginners’ – Thu 25/7
A beer tasting 101 experience hosted by David Moynagh at Saint Leonards, 394 New North Road. Dive into the world of Belgian beers – exploring their rich heritage and unique flavours. Perfect for novices, if you’ve ever enjoyed yourself at one of the Belgian Beer Cafes or simply curious about these world-famous beers, this is your chance to learn about and taste some of the best Belgian brews. Don’t miss out! Includes 10 tasters and belgian snacks.

‘Drinking Buddies’ – Speed Dating Beer Tasting – Sun 21/7
Join your love guru Hannah for an exciting afternoon of speed dating with a twist. With seven rounds, each new date comes with a different Saint Leonard’s beer to taste, accompanied by beer notes from the brewers to spark conversation.
The catch? You must sign up as a pair with a friend of the opposite gender. So bring a drinking buddy and take a chance on love this Auckland Beer Week. If you and someone special hit it off and decide to go on a first date, the first beer is on us.
